Prof. Marc A. Eisner named 2008 Winchester Scholar-Teacher Award Recipient

The undergraduate Brothers of the Xi Chapter of Psi Upsilon have proudly and 
unanimously decided to name Government Professor and "Henry Merritt Wriston Chair in Public Policy", Marc A. Eisner the Caleb T. Winchester Scholar-Teacher of the Year. This, the Xi's highest faculty honor, is deliberated seriously and awarded once every spring semester.
The award recipient must, in addition to advancing Wesleyan in whatever field of study they focus in, continue to leave a lasting impact upon a substantial number of the current undergraduate Brotherhood. Last year's recipient was Assistant Professor of Government, Ernesto Verdeja, whose bio and impressive accomplishments can be viewed here.
As one of the few Psi Upsilon Chapters to recieve awards at the International Psi Upsilon Convention for academic achievement, the Brothers of the Xi pride themselves on being active and passionate members of Wesleyan academic life. The award is named in honor of Professor of English, Caleb T. Winchester (class of 1869). A short biography can be found here on Olin Library's page entitled, "Library Greats". He was a proud alumnus of Wesleyan, a civil servant, a proud scholar and selfless man.
Professor Eisner, whose information can be viewed here, has truly impressed and inspired a multitude of the current undergraduate Brotherhood despite consisting of over sixty active members. We are glad and honored that he has accepted our invitation to attend a dinner in his honor tentatively slated for 5:30pm on Monday, April 14th.
