Scirica, '62, appointed to Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Judicial Conference

Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. of the U.S. Supreme Court has named Anthony J. Scirica, Xi ’62, to be the chairman of the executive committee of the Judicial Conference of the United States. The Judicial Conference is the national policy-making body for the federal courts. The seven-member executive committee serves as the senior executive arm of the conference and is authorized to act on behalf of the conference between its biannual sessions.
In making the appointment, Chief Justice Roberts said, “Tony Scirica is a wise and thoughtful judge. The executive committee will benefit from his deep reservoir of experience and proven leadership skills.”
Brother Scirica is the chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He also has served as chairman of the Judicial Conference’s Standing Committee on Rules of Practice and was a member of the Advisory Committee on Civil Rules.
