Psi Upsilon Turns 175!
11/24/08
On November 24, 1833, Psi Upsilon Fraternity was founded at Union College. One-hundred and seventy-five years later we are still thriving and growing strong! To celebrate this occasion, a collaborative website was created-http://www.psiu175.org- where brothers can view pictures, post reflections, and get an idea of current Psi U life. Specifically, check out the "In Your Words" section where there is a beautifully written piece by Howard “Bunky” Baker, Xi ‘48, and an opportunity for all to post replies or his own reflection.
Taking a moment to reflect on the longevity of our endeavor for lifelong friendship and higher standards of character is a worthwhile experience. It is truly special that OUR Psi U, OUR fraternity, celebrates its 165th anniversary this year. In a modern age where more and more parts of our lives seem fast, fleeting, and fragmented, it is reassuring and inspiring that a common thread of values has enduring relevance and safe refuge in the hearts of brothers old and young. The next time you lift a drink or utter a prayer, thank those who made our institution and our experience with it, possible, worthwhile, and remarkable.
