Professor Michael B. Nelson Begins as Xi Faculty Advisor

 

Michael Nelson is Assistant Professor of Government and Chair of the African Studies Cluster at Wesleyan University. His research focuses on the international relations of African states. His work has examined the participation and influence of African states in the global governance of agricultural trade, food safety and intellectual property. More recently, his attention has focused on the growing relationship between African countries and China, with a focus on telecommunications and hydropower. He has consulted for the UN Food and Agriculture Organization and the US State Department. He received his PhD from UC Berkeley and his BA from UC San Diego.
