Service

Since its inception, the Xi has remained firmly connected to the Middletown Community by participating in volunteer service projects on a regular basis. Every Saturday morning, brothers attend different projects, often with other Middletown or Wesleyan organizations. Over the past few semesters, we have worked with Habitat for Humanity, the NEAT mentoring group, the Nehemiah Housing Group, St. Luke’s Elderly Care Home and countess other local organizations.

Apart from these weekly activities, the Xi serves food and drink at "Take Back the Night," an annual on-campus event which allows student rape victims to share their stories with the greater community. The brotherhood also sponsors a Middletown Little League team for students with physical disabilities.

The Xi also opens up its doors for regular charitable events. Every October, we hold a Haunted House event for the children of Middletown. We have also hosted several successful benefit concerts to raise money and awareness for malaria prevention, displaced New Orleans artists, and victims of domestic abuse.

While we have received Psi Upsilon’s "Clasped Hand Award for Outstanding Philanthropy and Service" the past two years, we are consistently re-evaluating our level of commitment to Middletown and are finding way new innovative ways to better help the community. Below, you'll find a list of our recent community service participation.

If you have any further questions about the Xi’s Community Service or you or your organization would like to get involved, please connect with the current Community Service Chair.
